Last year I experienced the ups, the downs, and the overall enjoyment of being in a fantasy football league. This year I’m back again and have even created a second league. Being a designer, I see new leagues and teams as an opportunity for a fun logo project. In addition to creating these logos, I have made commemorative logo bottlecap magnets and packaging, league introduction letters and may design t-shirts if there is an interest.
First, my favorite logo, Bicoastal Brodown. This league is in its second year and is for my friends all over the country. Most of the members are in Washington, Ohio, Oregon and Georgia.
Below is my team in the league, Jukes of Hazzard. For those that don’t know, a juke is a football term for making a move that’s intended to deceive an opponent. The logo is almost identical to the original DUKES of Hazzard one, just with the “J” changed around and the football sheriff guy underneath:
For those that don’t know, I work in the criminal justice field in Georgia and interact with a lot of different personalities. I made a league just for courthouse employees, sheriff’s deputies, attorneys, law clerks, and other people in similar capacities. It’s called the FC Justice League:
In the spirit of criminal justice I named my team the Aggravated Batteries. Similar to how I designed the football guy (above), the battery was just that – a photo of a battery. After adding some cartoon monster features and a little shadowing it really came to life! So, regardless of how much success I actually have this year, I still had a good time with these projects!
